Regarding Transitions: Staffing Changes in Camps & Conferences Department
After five years as Camp Capers' Program Director, Alida Garcia, has announced to the Rt. Rev. David Reed, Bishop of West Texas, and other colleagues that she has accepted a new position as the Executive Director of Camp Huston, an Episcopal Camp & Conference Center located in the Diocese of Olympia in Washington State.
Alida joined the diocesan Camps and Conferences staff in 2016. Throughout her time as Program Director, she has worked closely with Camp Capers staff and volunteers to continue to grow and develop Capers’ summer camp programming and retreat offerings.
Rob Watson, Director of Camps & Conferences, shares, "Alida has done a wonderful job helping guide Camp Capers through staff transitions and a global pandemic. Her creativity, hard work, and devotion have helped Camp Capers not only persevere, but thrive in tough and challenging times."
"Alida’s passion and presence will be greatly missed," Watson continues. "We wish her all the best in her new ministry in Washington State.
The work of Camp Capers will continue under the direction of Rob Watson and Johnson Jeffers, Camp Capers Director, with support from other diocesan and camp staff during this transition.
