Youth, Children, and Family Ministry Summit Held at St. Helena's in Boerne

The Bishop’s Youth Commission and Christian Formation Committee hosted a Youth, Children, and Family Ministry Summit this past August. About 10 folks gathered at St. Helena’s Church in Boerne for a day of learning and fun!

The learning time included a guest speaker, Ewart Jones, Wiess College Coordinator at Rice University and former Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Texas. Jones shared about contemplative ministry practices, and two workshops were led by the Bishop's Youth Commission's co-chairs Dawn McLendon, St. Helena's, Boerne, and the Rev. Andrew Green, St. Philip's, Beeville. Small group sessions were held to facilitate idea-sharing among those in the same ministry area.

Participants had fun playing games, sharing game ideas, and ate a delicious lunch. Folks who attended the summit enjoyed meeting others in ministry to children, youth, and families in the Diocese of West Texas and having time to share struggles and ideas.
